Event Details

Applications for a charity place in the London Marathon 2022 have now closed.

We have been overwhelmed with the interest to run for LOROS in this event. If you have already applied for a charity place with us then you can expect to receive a decision before 31st December 2021. If you have missed out on applying for a place with us and are fortunate enough to receive a place in the main ballot then why not run for LOROS?  For more information, please see below or email

The London Marathon is one of the most desirable running events in the world. Every year, over 40,000 runners get the privilege of bounding stride after stride through street after street of the magnificent and iconic capital of England. Some run for personal achievement, some to raise money for their favourite charity, and many run in outrageous fancy dress: from a giant shoe and a London bus, to superheroes and a wide range of animals.

Why run for LOROS

LOROS relies on people like you to raise much-needed funds, and with your valuable support we can affect the lives of patients and their families in their time of need. Previous marathons have enabled us to do amazing things here at the hospice - let’s make the London Marathon 2022 an even bigger success!

With your help, funds raised via the 2022 London Marathon team could pay for a specialist nurse for over two weeks at LOROS. Go for it!

Application Process

We are pleased to be accepting applications for the London Marathon 2022. You can apply for a place by registering on the link above. You will be notified in writing no later than 31st December 2021 if your application has been successful or not.

Entry Information

When fundraising, we ask all our runners to aim for the sky but the minimum amount of sponsorship required to gain a place with us is £1,650. If you are lucky enough to be offered a place then a £100 non-refundable deposit is required within 14 days to secure your place.

You are not alone! You’ll have a dedicated contact here at LOROS, and the support of others who are running for team LOROS.

We will offer guidance through your training and preparation via training plans, training runs and advice forums and you will be provided with a sought-after LOROS running vest!

When it comes to fundraising, we can support you too. We’ll loan you equipment and suggest ideas reaching your target!

For enquiries please contact Alison Pettit, Fundraising Co-ordinator by email to or call (0116) 231 8431.
