Job description

Responsibilities and Requirements

Do you have the ability to relate to a wide range of people? Can you recruit the right volunteers to the right role? If so we’d love to hear from you.

In this role within the Volunteering department you’ll be carrying out inclusive and respectful recruitment and selection processes for people wishing to become volunteer in clinical roles, including the disclosure process, and complete the activities needed to induct new volunteers. You’ll also be ensuring existing clinical volunteers are set up with the training and support they need to carry out their roles.

You’ll be a welcoming and professional first point of contact for volunteering enquiries, helping potential new volunteers to find the right opportunity at LOROS. You’ll also work with department managers to create and advertise new volunteering opportunities.

There’s also the opportunity to lead your own projects as part of the Volunteering Plan and to bring a critical eye to streamlining processes to create an excellent volunteer experience. Experimenting with creative ways to recruit volunteers from a variety of sources are important in this role. Being a positive ambassador for LOROS is key, remembering that anyone you meet could be a potential patient, volunteer or supporter.

In this role you’ll benefit from having recruiting and administration skills and be willing to work flexibly, as occasional early evenings or weekends are sometimes needed. An ability to encourage and motivate volunteers is important in this role.

LOROS wants to ensure that the profile of its employees reflects the diverse communities of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. We are an equal opportunity employer and welcome applicants from the diverse communities, we serve.
