Community Engagement Volunteer


Job description

To raise awareness of LOROS services at community events and LOROS Local via informal talks/provision of information stand.
To be able to describe clearly and confidently, LOROS services to the public.
To be able to answer any general questions and to recognise and signpost as appropriate

Fluency in English is vital and additional language skills would be advantageous. You must have your own transport.

Compassionate Neighbours Volunteers

Our Compassionate Neighbours Volunteers provide support to patients, relatives and carers, for up to four hours per week. This can include spending time with patients in their own home, the community and occasionally attending appointments. Our excellent volunteers offer companionship, support and a listening ear as well as support with hobbies and interests. The service is available Mon-Fri, 9-5.

Transport is vital for patients. We need volunteers to collect patients from home using their own cars or alternatively driving any of the LOROS vehicles.

LOROS Local Volunteers

Support the LOROS Local Information and Support Officer/Driver, provide information and support to those accessing the vehicle with regards to raising awareness of the all Hospice services. Ensure that relevant patient information is well stocked and available.
