Job description

Under the supervision and guidance of the home visiting staff, Telephone Befriending Volunteers will provide telephone support to patients and their carers in their own homes. This will offer both a listening ear and social contact on a weekly or fortnightly basis.

Personal Qualities to fulfil role include:-
• Good telephone manner
• Ability to listen as well as talk

Compassionate Neighbours Volunteers

Our Compassionate Neighbours Volunteers provide support to patients, relatives and carers, for up to four hours per week. This can include spending time with patients in their own home, the community and occasionally attending appointments. Our excellent volunteers offer companionship, support and a listening ear as well as support with hobbies and interests. The service is available Mon-Fri, 9-5.

LOROS Local is an advice and information vehicle which travels around the counties of Leicestershire and Rutland. It enables people to find out more about the work of the hospice in their local communities and it enables LOROS to deliver a range of services locally.
