Join the LOROS Walking Group

From weekly local walks, to walking trips away, the LOROS Walking Group are a friendly bunch with suitable trips for all ages and abilities, all whilst raising money to support the Hospice. And importantly, their walks always involve a tea, coffee and cake stop!


During 2025 the group have raised over £13,500 for LOROS!

LOROS training walks


In addition to the longer treks, the LOROS walking group organises regular day walks both in and around Leicestershire, as well as slightly further afield in some beautiful locations such as Dovedale or the Malvern Hills. The group are also currently exploring the Leicestershire Trig Point Pillars. All are welcome to join and the group operates a mailing list via email for anyone wanting to be kept up to date with upcoming walks.

All walks will be 8-10 miles & 9am-1pm unless stated.

December

Sunday 14th - 8.30am from Sutton Cheney, Main St near Village Hall/church CV13 0AG, Aiming to finish by 12.30

Sunday 21st - Annual LOROS Christmas Stroll with mulled wine + mince pies. Meet at Abbey Park car park, Abbey Park Road (near canal bridge). Longer walk/orienteering starts 9am. Joined by shorter walk starts 10.30am same place. Finish 11.30 with Festive Fayre until 12.00. 

January

Saturday 3rd - 9am start from WoodhouseEaves village hall car park LE12 8RZ, aiming to finish by 1pm.

Sunday 11th - Freeze your bits and bobs off walk (details to follow)

March 26th-29th -The Tabular Hills Way - (48 miles) - further details to follow but register your interest 

July 8th-12th - Rutland Round (65 miles)  - daily walking trips

9th August 2026- Walk to the Mammoth (Flintstone style)  

September mid-late - The Yorkshire Wolds (80 miles) -  still to be recced so no further details yet, but register your interest

Please note: All walkers will need to wear appropriate walking clothes for the weather and walking boots. Please bring food and drink to last the duration of the walk.
