Join us for the Memory Light Trail
Weaving through the tranquil gardens of LOROS Hospice, our Memory Light Trail offers a special place for you and your family to remember your loved ones.
Thousands of twinkling, sparkling, starry lights will illuminate your path. Every single light reflects the life of a loved one no longer with us, every flickering flame, a story remembered.
Gather your family and friends to explore the beautiful trail from 4-7pm on Thursday 5th December – Wednesday 11th December.
LOROS is a special place and we want to share it with everyone. Whether you have a previous connection to LOROS or not, the Memory Light Trail promises an enchanting experience which is open to all.
We hope to bring fond memories to all that visit; with a reminder that those who have departed are never truly gone – they live on in the hearts of those who remember them.
Booking is advised but not necessary - entry to the trail is available with a simple donation to LOROS Hospice.
Emma’s story – LOROS brought light into the darkness
“In March 2017 my husband Chris was diagnosed with cancer. He was 42. Our children, Annie and Hugo, were 10 and 9 at the time."
"After rounds of chemo and a hospital stay, we came to LOROS. He had a room of his own and a view of the garden. The staff were amazing, the nurses threw a party for my son’s birthday, decorating Chris’s room with banners making him a special birthday cake."
"LOROS completely changed what could have been a terrible ending, and we now have such fond memories and we’re able to see the good times that we spent together."
"On Chris’s stone we’ve had engraved ‘his light shines on’ and that’s what LOROS did for us, bring light to the darkness.”
Please consider giving the gift of care today and make a donation to LOROS Hospice. Every £1 raised will help families just like Emma’s.
Make time to remember your loved ones
Grieving is a process that requires reflection. It’s important to take time out to remember and acknowledge those we’ve lost. It keeps their memory alive and strengthens our bond with them, reminding us of cherished, shared experiences.
That’s why every year at the start of December we encourage everyone to allow themselves a moment of remembrance to preserve the legacy of those who are no longer with us.
If you prefer to honour your loved ones privately, then please do consider visiting the LOROS Memory Light Trail which we hope will provide comfort in the dark.
If you prefer company, then you are more than welcome to join us for our annual Light Up a Life service on Sunday 8th December at 4.30pm, when we will all gather as a community to remember and honour those who hold a special place in our hearts together as part of a beautiful remembrance service.
A light will be placed on the LOROS Christmas tree and Memory Light Trail for every donation made to the LOROS Light Up a Life Appeal, providing care and support to patients and their families facing the most difficult time of their lives.
