Designed by LOROS patient, Chris Faulkner, a talented amateur artist who drew pictures from his bed on our Inpatient Ward.

"He loved the pleasure his art gave to people. He always said he wanted to give them something personal to say thank you for the help they gave him."

Chris’s widow, Lorraine said: "Chris only really started drawing once he became ill, but it quickly became really important to him." Chris’s pictures were such a hit with the LOROS nurses that he offered to draw their family pets.

"He loved the pleasure his art gave to people. He drew pictures of the nurse’s pet dogs, birds and flowers. He always said he wanted to give them something personal to say thank you for the help they gave him."

Chris first drew a Robin sketch for his wife, Lorraine, as that was her favourite bird.

After his death, LOROS asked if they could use his lovely picture for the hospice’s festive scratch card, and the Faulkner family were delighted to see Chris remembered in this way.

Lorraine said: "I think they look amazing. Chris would be so touched, it meant so much to him to give something back."
