Ways to donate in memory
There are a number of ways you can donate as a tribute to your loved ones and your contributions are incredibly important to us - thank you.
At the time of a funeral, families often request donations to the Hospice in lieu of flowers.
Special occasion envelopes and collection boxes are available, making it easy to donate with gift aid at a funeral, memorial service, anniversary party or wedding. We will notify you to acknowledge the donations and inform you of the amount raised.
Please telephone the Fundraising team on (0116)231 8431 or email fundraising@loros.co.uk for further information.
Remember your loved one on our memory tree.
In our hospice garden we have a special individually crafted metal tree where families and friends can choose to hang a silver or gold coloured leaf in memory of a loved one.
The leaf can be engraved with a name and personal message. It is a way that you can receive comfort and support as you remember a loved one in our peaceful gardens.
To obtain a leaf, please download a form or complete the form below.
Remember someone precious with a Lasting Tribute and celebrate their life in a very special way.
What is a Lasting Tribute?
It’s a website that enables people to support LOROS and commemorate loved ones’ lives by enabling people to make donations at special occasions or fundraising events
It keeps memories close and provides somewhere personal to share messages, stories, favourite pictures or videos, and to light a candle or set up a remembrance garden. It’s a place of comfort that is stored centrally so you can visit any time
It allows friends and family to honour a loved one’s memory and raises valuable funds to support LOROS. Guests can donate to your lasting tribute instead of giving gifts at birthdays and anniversaries or in lieu of flowers at a funeral
To set up a Lasting Tribute for your loved one, please visit our Tribute page
Attend our Light up a Life event which is held annually in December.
Celebrate the life and love of someone special to you over the Christmas period by dedicating a light on our Hospice Christmas Tree in memory of a loved one.
A wonderful way of truly honouring and remembering that person.
Give every month so we can be here every day.
Set up a regular donation today to provide the comfort and reassurance that our patients need at the end of their lives. Every single pound you donate makes a difference. By becoming a Friend of LOROS and joining our regular giving scheme, you will provide reliable and consistent support for our patients during the most challenging time in their life and ensure that LOROS is here to continue providing care for those that we love in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.
If you would like to become a Friend of LOROS, please visit our Regular Giving page or contact the Fundraising team by telephone (0116)231 8431 or email The Fundraising Team for further information.
By playing the LOROS Lottery you’re making a huge difference and supporting local terminally ill people.
Over the past 23 years we know LOROS Lottery players have joined for all sorts of reasons but playing in memory of a loved one is why 75% of you join the LOROS Lottery. The LOROS Lottery takes place every single week with a top prize of £2000 followed by other cash prizes of £200, £150, £100, £50 and 50 £10’s. If you win, we take care of everything including your winners cheque – they’re sent out automatically.
Signing up is easy; visit our Lottery page to find out more.
I feel like the circle is complete, it’s the end of this chapter and I’m so grateful to LOROS for helping to make this happen.

My mum, Marilyn celebrated her 59th birthday in LOROS. With the help of the brilliant nurses and staff we organised a spa morning and a cake. Mum died a week afterwards. We will never forget how special the Hospice made her last birthday.
