Volunteers are an important part of daily life at the Hospice. We rely on a team of around 1,300 volunteers who give up their time to help us with a wide range of tasks.

We have a variety of rewarding volunteer roles available across the Hospice, in our shops, lottery department, and at our events.

We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated administrator with previous health care experience to provide administrative support to the medical PA’s and Clinical Areas.

Bereavement Support Volunteers

We have new opportunities to become a Bereavement Support Volunteer at LOROS. We ask that you are over 18, caring, compassionate, empathic, and reliable and feel that you can support people who are bereaved as a result of a life limiting illness, either in a group or individually in the Community.

Community Engagement Volunteer

We are looking for volunteers to help with raising awareness about LOROS services. We are looking for volunteers that represent the diverse communities in Leicester. Can you spare a few hours every month?

Community Raffle Volunteer

We require volunteers to promote and sell our raffle tickets from within our 30 LOROS Shops.

Community Scratch Card Volunteer

Help promote and sell our LOROS scratch cards at various venues throughout the year, including LOROS events, garden fetes and music festivals. If you are confident with good interpersonal skills and would like to lend a helping hand, then we would love to hear from you. Volunteers must be aged 16 or over.

Compassionate Neighbours Volunteers

Our Compassionate Neighbours Volunteers provide support to patients, relatives and carers, for up to four hours per week. This can include spending time with patients in their own home, the community and occasionally attending appointments. Our excellent volunteers offer companionship, support and a listening ear as well as support with hobbies and interests. The service is available Mon-Fri, 9-5.

Counter Collection Unit (CCU) Collector

Do you have a few hours to spare every 3 months? We urgently need volunteers to collect, receipt and bank money from LOROS donation boxes already placed in local shops and businesses. The areas requiring volunteers are: - Glenfield - Loughborough - Hinckley - Hinckley Road area, Leicester - Desford - Coleorton - Countesthorpe - Market Bosworth - Whitwick - Oakham - Uppingham

An exciting opportunity to volunteer within our day therapy unit, If you have any experience of working in a clinical environment or a caring role and would like to make a difference, we would love to hear from you. This is a great opportunity to become part of the Day Therapy Team.
