LOROS Hospice is excited to announce the highly anticipated reopening of its High Street shop in Oakham.
After temporarily closing its doors to the public in March for refurbishments, the shop is ready to welcome customers back at 10:30am on Friday 23rd June. Having served the community for over 30 years, the shop has undergone some much-needed improvements to enhance the shopping experience.
To mark the occasion, Andi, a dedicated shop volunteer for five years and someone who has personally benefited from LOROS bereavement services, will have the honour of cutting the ribbon to officially reopen the shop. We invite local residents to attend and celebrate this special occasion.
With the refurbishments complete, the High Street shop is better equipped to cater to the unique interests of customers. From a wide range of bric-a-brac and collectables to an extensive clothing collection and a dedicated book corner, there’s something for everyone to discover and find their favourite item at a bargain price.
As part of the grand opening, local residents will have the opportunity to find out more about volunteering at the shop and how they can give back to their local community.
Gary McMillan-Dale, Retail Manager at LOROS Hospice said: “We would like to thank the Oakham community for their incredible support since the shop’s opening in 1991 and throughout the refurbishment process. The shop looks so much better now and we can’t wait to welcome everyone back so they can see it for themselves.
“We’re currently looking for 25 amazing volunteers to help us with a variety of roles in the shop. Your support is particularly needed on Saturdays and weekends when we experience high footfall. Our flexible scheduling means ensures that all volunteers from all backgrounds and experiences are welcomed.
“Whether you have a passion for fashion, enjoy meeting new people, or just want to make a difference in your community, we have a rewarding role for you. By joining our team, you become part of something truly special.”
Donated goods will be accepted once again. To ensure a smooth process, please call in advance if you have more than five bags to donate. Due to limited stock room space, only items that are sold in the Oakham shop can be accepted.
All the profits from the shop will go directly to LOROS Hospice, which is dedicated to delivering free, high-quality, compassionate care and support to terminally ill patients, their families and carers.
