LOROS Hospice proudly opened a new charity shop located in Beaumont Leys Shopping Centre on Tuesday 23rd January.
The new shop offers stylish men and women’s clothing and accessories, featuring an incredible starting price of £1. Customers can also find some bargains in the kid's corner which has a wide range of children’s clothing and toys.
The doors swung open at 10.30am and it was a particularly special moment for Shop Manager Laura Webb as she cut the ribbon for the grand opening. Laura started as a dedicated volunteer in Glenfield back in March 2022 and has now moved into a leadership role at Beaumont Leys.
Laura said: “We’re so excited to open a shop in Beaumont Leys and extend a heartfelt thanks to the local community who have always been very supportive.
“The shop is in a great location in the former Shoezone shop, right next to Superdrug. We hope this will encourage more people to shop with us and drop off donations.”
There are plenty of opportunities for volunteers to get involved with shifts throughout the week from Monday to Sunday.
Gary McMillan-Dale, Retail Manager at LOROS Hospice, added: "We would warmly welcome 30 volunteers to take on various roles such as sorting donations, media scanning, and helping customers. Volunteering is a great way to gain skills and make a difference in your community. If you enjoy teamwork, this is the perfect opportunity.”
Claire, a local resident, said: “I visited today as I realised that there was a brand-new shop opening. I support LOROS every month, so it was amazing to see this new store in the shopping centre. I really like the look, items available and will be adding it to my stops for whenever I’m in the area.”
All the profits from the shop will go directly to LOROS Hospice, which is dedicated to delivering free, high-quality, compassionate care and support to terminally ill patients, their families and carers.
