On 3rd May 2026, Ashley Bartlett and the North Leicestershire MG Club hosted ‘Charity Capers’ – a fantastic day that brought together around 50 cars, from MG A to ZR, along with a few special guests including an MX-5 and even a favourite of Fuzz Townsend.
The 80-mile scenic run began at Quorn & Woodhouse Station on the Great Central Railway, kicking off in the best possible way with bacon baps and plenty of chat. There was even an optional coffee stop along the route to keep everyone fuelled.
With the rain staying away, it was the perfect day to enjoy the beautiful Leicestershire countryside and showcase an incredible range of MGs and their classic friends. It was brilliant to see so many familiar faces, as well as new members joining in.
The event finished at Stonehurst Family Farm & Motor Museum, where the day was rounded off with a raffle full of prizes, lots of laughter, and a fantastic atmosphere.
Together, an incredible £1,000 was raised for LOROS Hospice – a huge thank you to everyone who took part and supported.
