Sweet Success at St Bartholomew’s

At St Bartholomew’s, a group of students recently came together to organise a successful and heartfelt bake sale, raising an impressive £378.50 for the charity LOROS.

When it was their turn to host a school bake sale, Dotty, Emma, Ester, Hatty, Jessica and Roseanna quickly decided they wanted to support a cause that was meaningful to them. LOROS was chosen due to the personal connections several of the girls have with the hospice, which has provided care and support to members of their families during difficult times. This made their fundraising efforts all the more special and inspiring.

The group worked together to plan a wide variety of delicious treats, with support from their families. Their stall featured everything from classic school cake with sprinkles and Rice Krispie cakes to cookies and brownies. Thoughtfully, they also included gluten-free and vegan options so that everyone could enjoy something.

In the lead-up to the event, the students took responsibility for promoting the bake sale around the school, before setting up and running the stall themselves on the day. Their teamwork, organisation and enthusiasm were clear to see, and even handling the money provided a great opportunity to practise important skills.

Thanks to the generosity of pupils, parents and staff, the bake sale was a huge success, raising £378.50 for LOROS.

The students were delighted with the outcome and would like to thank everyone who supported them by buying cakes, donating or helping in any way. They were also proud to receive certificates from LOROS in recognition of their efforts, which were presented during a school assembly.

Most importantly, the group is proud to know that the money raised will help LOROS continue its vital work supporting local patients and their families—just as it has supported their own.
