Creativity, teamwork and community spirit were on full display as Year 5 pupils turned their business ideas into reality and raised more than £1,000 for LOROS Hospice through their incredible Fiver Challenge Marketplace.

Following the success of their enterprise projects during STEAM Week, the pupils were each given the challenge of growing a £5 investment into a successful fundraising venture. What followed was an afternoon filled with innovation, determination and plenty of fun as the school playground was transformed into a vibrant marketplace.

Visitors were spoilt for choice, with stalls offering a fantastic range of handmade products including colourful slime, fidget toys, beautiful jewellery and luxurious bath bombs. Each stall showcased the creativity and entrepreneurial skills the children had developed, alongside their enthusiasm for making a difference.

The marketplace wasn't just about shopping. A variety of exciting games kept customers entertained throughout the afternoon, with children eagerly lining up to take part in activities such as Hook a Duck, Grab a Toy, Penalty Shoot-Out and Crazy Golf. One of the biggest attractions of the day proved to be the ever-popular "Throw a Sponge at the Teacher", which brought plenty of laughter and cheers from the crowd.

While the event was packed with fun and excitement, its impact reaches far beyond the playground. Thanks to the hard work of the pupils and the generosity of those who supported them, the Year 5 cohort raised an incredible £1,000+ for LOROS, helping to support patients and families across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland who are living with life-limiting illnesses.

At LOROS, we are continually inspired by the compassion and commitment shown by young people in our community. The Year 5 pupils demonstrated that even a small investment can create something truly meaningful when combined with imagination, teamwork and a desire to help others.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the pupils, staff, parents and supporters who contributed to the success of the Fiver Challenge Marketplace. Every purchase made, every game played and every pound raised will help LOROS continue providing specialist care and support to local families when they need it most.

Congratulations to Year 5 on an outstanding achievement. Your creativity, dedication and kindness have made a lasting difference, and you should be incredibly proud of what you have accomplished. 💜
