Are you ready for the challenge of a lifetime?

Join us as we journey to one of the new wonders of the world in an unforgettable trek to the heart of Inca civilisation, Machu Picchu, in support of LOROS Hospice.

This incredible experience follows the beautiful and lesser-travelled Ancascocha Trail, offering a more peaceful route through the Peruvian Andes. Over several memorable days, you’ll walk ancient Inca pathways, taking in snow-capped mountains, flowing rivers and remote Andean communities along the way.

The trek is carefully paced to help you adjust to the altitude, with experienced leaders and guides by your side every step of the way. Each day brings a new challenge and a growing sense of achievement, as you push yourself further than you thought possible while soaking up the landscapes, culture and shared moments that make the journey unforgettable.

After several days on the trail, the reward is extraordinary. Reaching the Sun Gate and catching your first glimpse of Machu Picchu is a powerful, emotional moment — one that stays with you long after the trek ends. It’s a true celebration of everything you’ve overcome, and a memory made even more meaningful by knowing your challenge is helping support LOROS.

This is more than just a trek. It’s a challenge that creates lifelong memories, a journey you’ll be proud of, and an experience you’ll carry with you forever.

Why take part for LOROS?

Your adventure today, helps LOROS care tomorrow.

By taking on the trek to Machu Picchu, you’re doing something extraordinary — not just for yourself, but for people who need compassionate care when it matters most.

Every step you take brings you closer to this iconic destination while helping fund the vital work of LOROS Hospice. You don’t need to be an experienced trekker to get involved. All that’s needed is a sense of adventure, a willingness to challenge yourself, and a commitment to raising funds for a cause that truly makes a difference.

LOROS depends on the dedication of supporters like you. The money you raise helps us provide expert care, comfort and support to patients and their families during their most difficult times.

People just like you make everything we do at the hospice possible. Together, let’s make 2027 our biggest and most impactful year yet.

Register your interest

Support

You are not alone! You’ll have a dedicated contact here at LOROS, along with the support of others who are taking on the challenge for LOROS. If you like, we will introduce you to a team WhatsApp group so you can get to know the rest of the team taking part.

We will also offer guidance throughout the build-up to the challenge itself and send you all our opportunities to join in on LOROS training walks.

When it comes to fundraising, we can support you too. We’ll introduce you to fundraising tools such as JustGiving and sponsor forms, loan you equipment, suggest ideas for reaching your target and provide you with a timeline of milestones to keep you on track!

For enquiries, please contact Megan Whittaker, Fundraising Co-ordinator by email to challenges@loros.co.uk or call (0116) 231 8431.
