BBC Make a Difference awards

Many of you will have seen the exciting news that LOROS CHANCE Club has been named a finalist in the BBC Leicester Make a Difference Awards – a fantastic recognition of the incredible difference the club is making to children and young people across our community.

To celebrate this achievement, we've shared two special videos on our social media channels, highlighting the impact of CHANCE Club from two different perspectives.

The first video features Caroline Rogers, Founder of CHANCE Club and Children and Young People Counsellor, who explains what the club means to the children who attend and reflects on how it has grown from a small pilot in 2024 with just a handful of attendees into a thriving group of 26 young people. It's a wonderful reminder of the safe, supportive space the club provides for children to connect, build friendships and realise they're not alone.

The second video features Stacy Munday, our Schools & Young People Coordinator, who helps run each session of the CHANCE Club. Stacy shares her experience of supporting the group and the positive changes she sees in the children and young people who attend, from growing in confidence to forming meaningful friendships.

The success of CHANCE Club is a testament to the dedication, compassion and hard work of everyone involved. We couldn't be prouder to see the team recognised as finalists in these awards.

If you haven't already, we'd love you to watch both videos on our social media channels, give them a like, leave a supportive comment and share them with your own networks to help celebrate this fantastic achievement and raise awareness of the support LOROS provides for children and young people.

Thank you to everyone who has played a part in making CHANCE Club such a special place.
