Join the Sawubona national forum: help shape equitable palliative and end of life care
We are inviting you to join the Sawubona National Forum, which is a platform dedicated to promoting equity, compassion, and inclusion in palliative and end of life care.
Sawubona is a Zulu greeting meaning “I see you”. It reflects our mission which is to ensure that every individual is seen, heard, and valued.
Why join the forum?
As a forum member, you will play an active role in:
Shaping national research and practice in palliative and end of life care
Highlighting and addressing inequalities that affect marginalised communities
Sharing lived experiences and local insights that drive meaningful change
Accessing a supportive network of peers, professionals, and researchers
Contributing to a more inclusive and compassionate healthcare system
What’s involved?
Forum members are asked to commit to four online sessions per year, each lasting approximately 1.5 hours.
We welcome individuals from all backgrounds — including those with lived experience, carers, community advocates, and professionals working in health and social care.
Volunteering for the Sawubona Forum is an opportunity to make a tangible difference, build your network, and be part of a growing national movement toward equitable care.
