Volunteers’ Week is an annual UK-wide campaign held from the first Monday in June to celebrate and recognise the contributions of volunteers. Launched in 1984, this initiative has been running for over 40 years, providing organisations and communities a platform to thank current and past volunteers for their invaluable efforts. The campaign highlights the diversity and unity of volunteer work across the UK.
We are looking forward to celebrating our incredible volunteers as part of National Volunteers’ Week and will be hosting our BBQ thank you event on Monday 2nd June 2025 from 4pm -7pm at the hospice and also thought it would be great to have a larger crowd of staff and volunteers to cheer fellow volunteers who will be receiving long service awards this year.
Unfortunately, we do not have capacity to cater for all staff to attend, but will be asking Heads of Departments to ask selected staff who work closely with volunteers to represent their service. We will also have a creative display for staff to add a thank you to and how volunteers have made an impact to their service. We will hopefully have this available in the social area towards the end of May. If you are based in retail or out in the community and would like to send a special thank you message to your volunteers, please email this through to volunteers@loros.co.uk.
