A big shoutout to Becca Stevens who swam 21 miles in October all in support of LOROS. 21 miles is the equivalent of swimming the English Channel - an incredible amount!
Becca has now raised over £1,600 in a bid to support LOROS Hospice at a difficult time.
Becca said when beginning her challenge: "I want to enable our wonderful teams to carry on providing the best end of life care to patients and their families at the most difficult of times. To see services cut and redundancies made of much loved and valued colleagues has been so hard.
To try and help I set myself a challenge for the month of October-to swim the equivalent distance of the English Channel. To put this into perspective I usually swim half a mile a week which is 32 lengths, so this will be a hard task, but one which I am willing to attempt in order to raise much needed funds for this wonderful place."
"I am amazed at how much I have raised. It was a big challenge but so worthwhile to know I am supporting such a special place. Thank you to all my family, friends and lovely work colleagues for their support and encouragement, which has definitely helped me to carry on when the challenge felt tough!"
P.S: We love the swimming cap Becca!
