Reindeer Run FAQs

Why should we host a Reindeer Run?

The Reindeer Run is a fun and easy way for local schools, community groups, sports clubs, families and local organisations to get active together while raising vital funds for LOROS Hospice.

When is the Reindeer Run?

You can host your Reindeer Run any time from the beginning of November right up until term finishes in December.

Where is the Reindeer Run?

You can hold your Reindeer Run wherever works best for your group, organisation or family – from school playgrounds and sports fields to parks, village greens or community centres. (LOROS Hospice shall not be held responsible for accidents, injury, loss or damage to persons or property as a consequence of participation in the Reindeer Run campaign).

How do I organise a Reindeer Run?

Register your interest in taking part in a Reindeer Run by emailing schools@loros.co.uk and we’ll get in touch to help get this fun-draiser off the ground!

How long should our Reindeer Run be?

You decide the distance. We recommend setting an achievable target for children with Reindeer routes up to 1km.

Can anyone get involved in the Reindeer Run?

The Reindeer Run is designed for 4 to 11 year olds. Whether you're taking part as a school, family, sports club, or community group everyone is welcome to get involved.

"I'm not a primary school pupil but would love to take part!"

Amazing news. If you’re a slightly older reindeer who would like to take on Reindeer Run for LOROS Hospice, get in touch with our Schools team.

We’re more than happy to have a chat about everything you need to get started, including how to set up your own JustGiving fundraising page to raise that all important sponsorship.

How much does our Reindeer Run need to raise?

We ask all children taking part to raise a minimum sponsorship of £5. All the money you help raise through your Reindeer Run goes towards supporting people living with a life-limiting illness, and their families.

How do we donate the money raised?

LOROS Hospice accepts donations in a number of different ways. If you’d like to donate to the Hospice, you can do so by:

JustGiving

Once you have signed up, a member of our Schools team will be in touch to help you set up a JustGiving page that is directly linked to LOROS. This is the easiest way to get sponsorship without having to handle cash. Our team will help you to set up your own JustGiving page where you can easily share the link with staff, parents/guardians and friends and family.

Online donations

Online donations are the quickest and most convenient way of making a donation and can be done at loros.co.uk/donate

Sending a cheque

Cheques must be made payable to LOROS Hospice:

Or let us know when you have collected in all the money raised and when you would like to drop it off to us!

How does raising money for LOROS Hospice make a difference?

We would love to come and talk to you about LOROS Hospice and the difference the money you raise makes.

If you would like to arrange for one of the Schools team to pay you a visit, please get in touch by emailing schools@loros.co.uk or calling us on (0116) 234 8431.
