Specialist Palliative Care Nurse (Community)
£35,463 to £42,841 per annum pro rata (depending on experience)
22.5 hours per week over 3 days in a seven-day period
Current NHS pension scheme members can continue in the scheme under LOROS’ direction body status and NHS service will be taken into consideration in relation to annual leave entitlement
You will need to have as a minimum:
significant post registration experience
proven palliative/cancer care and symptom management experience
proven teaching experience
We are looking to appoint a dynamic experienced and highly motivated nurse to join our Community Specialist Palliative Care team. This is part of an Integrated Community Specialist Palliative Care Service (ICSPCS) across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland and the post holder will be linked to 1 of 8 community hubs. The team also participate in training programmes for both professionals and non-professionals. There will be opportunities for self-development and involvement in service development and clinical audit.
This post will support a Specialist Palliative Care Co-ordination Centre and provide specialist planned and urgent care to patients with cancer and other life limiting illnesses.
You will need to have well-developed interpersonal skills. A non-medical prescribing qualification is highly desirable as is a diploma or degree in palliative and/or community experience. Undertaking the European Certificate in Essential Palliative Care Course, if you have not undertaken a palliative care module and Non-medical prescribing course will be essential to this post.
Due to the nature of the role and visiting patients in the community you will need to hold a current driving licence and have access to a car/transport.
