I need to let you know, times are incredibly tough for us right now.
For 40 years, LOROS Hospice has been there for our community. But today, I need to be honest with you. Like so many other hospices we are having to make some difficult decisions to try and secure the long-term future of our well-loved charity.
I know you will agree, it’s a heart-breaking position to be in. You already know the importance of our care. Much more than essential medical support; we bring comfort, peace, and dignity - a shared laugh, a quiet moment, or simply being there to hold a hand. This care is only possible with the kindness, support and generosity of people like you.
The truth is, without urgent donations and ongoing support, hospices like ours simply won’t be able to care for every patient who needs us.
This year we will provide specialist, compassionate care to more than 2,600 patients and their families across our local community. It costs us £706 a day to care for each patient in the Hospice and 80% of all income to LOROS comes from donations from amazing supporters just like you, who have shown us such love and support and kept us going. This year as we mark our 40th birthday, I have one simple request of you: please donate to our cause and give a gift today.
Your donation - no matter the size - will help keep LOROS going. It will ensure that patients facing the end of their lives are not alone, in fear or in pain. It will mean that families can find comfort in the hardest moments and it will bring light in what feels like a very dark time for the hospice sector.
