Rachel Harrison, who works as an occupational therapist within the Enablement Team at the hospice, has pledged to raise £2,000 for LOROS and has enlisted the help of family and friends, with youngest daughter Sarah having already raised £112.05 by roping in her friends at St Paul’s School in Leicester and organising a cake sale.

She said: “Working at LOROS, I see first-hand the difference it makes to patients and their families. I’m keen to do my bit to help further its inspiring work. It is a big challenge both physically and in terms of fund-raising but I am confident I can do it and it is great to feel that there are a lot of people behind me to spur me on.”

Donations can be made via collection boxes at the Wheatsheaf Inn, Woodhouse News, Oakwood Pharmacy and the Post Office or online at www.justgiving.com/Rachel-Harrison9
