LOROS Hospice has announced the appointment of its new chief executive.

Rob Parkinson, former CEO of Leicester-based family support charity Home-Start UK, will be leading the charity when he joins in April 2022, after the departure of current chief John Knight.

Rob is currently chief executive of the University of Warwick Students’ Union.

LOROS chair of trustees Robin Graham-Brown said: “I am delighted to announce Rob Parkinson as LOROS’ new Chief Executive. Rob is an experienced CEO with the skills and knowledge to take LOROS from strength to strength.

“I look forward very much to working with him and would like to extend a very warm welcome on behalf of trustees, staff and volunteers.”

As well as working at Home-Start UK, Rob has previously headed up Leicester charity Action Homeless and was involved in several organisations providing affordable housing and health care services for asylum seekers and homeless people in Leicester.

Rob Parkinson said: “I am really looking forward to joining LOROS and getting to know everyone involved in the work of the charity.

“I’m excited to be joining the hospice as it emerges from the pandemic and work with such a talented team of Trustees, staff and volunteers to shape the future of the organisation.”
