Dr Ellie Wilson from the University of Nottingham has worked with Professor Faull and others  to further understand the experiences of people with MND who use ventilation to maintain their breathing.  In this talk, which most of us found very moving,  Ellie shared some of the reflections of bereaved family about the death of their loved one. Watch the video

Professor Christina Faull, National NIHR Clinical Research Network speciality lead,  discussed the portfolio research activity that took place in Hospice in England and Wales in 2022-23 and how East Midlands Hospices had contributed to this. Watch the video

Laura Havers, Clinical Nurse specialist in the palliative care team at Nottingham University Hospitals, discussed the findings form her masters study on high flow oxygen and end of life care. Watch the video

Dr Nicole Bramhall, Speciality Registrar at LOROS, discussed how the NIHR Associate Principal Investigator scheme has helped her understand more about being a clinician researcher and her involvement in the CHELSea II study about fluids in the last days of life with patients on the LOROS ward. Dr Fran Allen, Research Fellow in the NIHR School for primary care research at Nottingham University talks about a strategy to prevent falls called ACTION FALLS and how this might be adapted for use in Hospices. Watch the video

Dr Seyi Olayemi, a GP trainee in Mid Nottinghamshire discussed how an audit of steroid prescriptions for patients discharged from John Eastwood Hospice has led to safer practice that we could all learn much from. Watch the video
