NEBOSH Team hikes to Support LOROS Hospice

Over the weekend, a dedicated team from NEBOSH took on the challenge of a sponsored trek up Moel Hebog (the Hill of the Hawk), raising vital funds in support of LOROS Hospice.

The 12km hike, which included three summits and began in the picturesque village of Beddgelert, provided a challenging but rewarding route through the beautiful Welsh National Park. A total of 20 members of staff took part, showing incredible teamwork, determination, and commitment as they tackled the terrain together.

The trek was both physically demanding and deeply meaningful, with many participants having personal connections to LOROS through friends and family who have previously used the hospice’s services.

NEBOSH Social team organised the event, Janna North, Jess Orton and Kate Bokor said:

We love to organise a challenging hike every year and gathering a group of colleagues who want to challenge themselves but also raise money. One of the most rewarding parts is watching our team sponsorship come in, knowing how much it is going to help such a fabulous charity.

Reflecting on the challenge, Leigh Palmer said:

“It really was a team effort. Raising awareness of LOROS and the funds raised was so important to us. The trek was challenging but incredibly rewarding, and it felt like a real achievement knowing we were doing it for such a good cause.”

Another member of the team, Becky Spencer, shared:

“The hike was challenging but extremely rewarding. It’s great to be able to raise funds for LOROS — a local charity that is so close to many of our hearts.”

The climb was not only a test of endurance, but also a powerful example of colleagues coming together to support their local community. Every step taken across the route and over the summits will help LOROS continue to provide care, comfort, and support to patients, families, and children when they need it most.

We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone at NEBOSH who took part, supported the trek, and donated. Your generosity, teamwork, and determination are truly inspiring, and we are incredibly grateful for your support.
