Are you ready to test your limits for something truly meaningful?
Beginning in the town of Llanberis, in the heart of Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park, this unforgettable challenge will see you and fellow LOROS supporters trekking to the summit of Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa) - at night!
Standing at 1,085 metres, Snowdon is the highest mountain in England and Wales — and under of cover of darkness, it becomes an even greater test of endurance, determination and teamwork. Guided by the beam of your headtorch and the encouragement of those around you, you’ll push yourself physically and mentally to reach the summit beneath the star-filled skies.
Taking on the Snowdon at Night challenge is your opportunity to conquer this magnificent peak in a truly unique and unforgettable way. You’ll trek alongside fellow fundraisers united for LOROS Hospice, supported every step of the way by experienced mountain leaders, before descending the mountain to celebrate your achievement with a well-earned breakfast at the finish. It’s a powerful challenge, an incredible experience — and a chance to make every step count for local families supported by LOROS.
For many, this is more than a physical challenge — it’s a deeply personal journey. Walking in memory of someone special can make every step even more meaningful. You may choose to take part in honour of a loved one, carrying their photo with you on the trek and taking a quiet moment at the summit to reflect, remember and celebrate their life beneath the vast night sky. Reaching the top becomes not just an achievement, but a tribute — a powerful way to keep their memory close while supporting other families who need compassionate care.
Why take part for LOROS?
This is more than just a mountain climb.
By taking on the Snowdon at Night trek, you’re doing something extraordinary — not just pushing yourself to reach the summit beneath the stars but standing alongside local families when they need compassionate care the most.
Every step you climb under the starry skies of Snowdon helps fund the vital work of LOROS Hospice. You don’t need to be a seasoned mountaineer to take part — just determination, team spirit, and a commitment to raising funds that will make a real difference.
LOROS relies on the passion and dedication of supporters like you. The money you raise enables us to provide specialist care, comfort and support to patients and their loved ones through life’s most challenging moments.
Covering the cost of your challenge
There are multiple ways in which you can cover the cost of the experience. Both options require a non-refundable registration fee of £45.00 when you book.
Minimum sponsorship – Raise a minimum sponsorship of £345.00 for LOROS Hospice which will cover the cost of your trip.
Self fund – You cover the balance of £169.00 (5 weeks before your challenge), and then raise as much as you can for LOROS.
Support
LOROS will be arranging coach travel from LOROS Hospice to Snowdon and returning after the challenge.
You are not alone in this challenge! You’ll have a dedicated contact here at LOROS, along with the support of others who are taking on the challenge for the charity. If you like, we will introduce you to a team WhatsApp group so you can get to know the rest of the team taking part.
We will also offer guidance throughout the build up to the challenge itself and send you all our opportunities to join in on LOROS training walks.
When it comes to fundraising, we can support you too. We’ll introduce you to fundraising tools such as JustGiving and sponsor forms, loan you equipment, suggest ideas for reaching your target and provide you with a timeline of milestones to keep you on track!
