I started with LOROS at the beginning of August and am pretty overwhelmed with the warmth of welcome I have received by everyone so far.
My first week has been a huge learning curve, with many induction meetings, new faces, names and terminology (and plenty of food!). One thing that stands out is everyone’s passion for their role and the part they play in delivering the multiple services provided by LOROS.
As a Chartered Accountant, my career to date has been based around my passion for the not for profit sector. Prior to having worked in education for the last 11 years, I worked at the NSPCC National Training Centre for 7 years, so whilst I am new to the hospice world, I bring a wealth of experience and knowledge of charity finance and operations which I hope will have a positive impact on LOROS. Im aware I have some big shoes to fill but am looking forward to the challenge!
