A few weeks back, you may have seen on our social media channels that Dr Rich Kitchen took on an incredible challenge in order to highlight the funding crisis at hospices across the midlands.
We're delighted to say that he absolutely smashed the challenge! He cycled an incredible 184 miles in one day, on one of the hottest days of the year so far! Starting and finishing at LOROS, Rich visited multiple other hospices along the way.
When asked how he felt after completing the bike ride, Rich said: "Not too bad. Tired. Will sleep well!"
"As a palliative care sector we need more funding. We shouldn't be looking at reducing services we should be increasing them and doing the best by our patients. By going back to all of these places I've worked at is really nice from a personal perspective but also to put these hospices in the spotlight. I'm hoping we can make people realise how valuable hospice care is.
