LOROS’ free Will writing clinics makes it easy for supporters to make a Will and support the Hospice

From 23rd-27th September, four local solicitors are generously donating their time and expertise by offering free Will writing clinics here at LOROS. The clinics are a safe place to ask questions, discuss your wishes, and to put these wishes in place through the creation of a free simple Will.

Additionally, the clinics are a great opportunity to consider leaving a gift to LOROS in your Will. Gifts in Wills play a huge part in providing vital care and support to terminally ill patients and their families. 1 in 4 of our patients are funded by gifts left to LOROS in Wills each year. A gift to LOROS in your Will costs nothing today, but once you have taken care of your loved ones, a gift of just 1% of your estate could make a real difference in ensuring LOROS can continue this vital care in the future.

Leaving a gift in your Will is a brilliant way of supporting the causes you care about the most, it costs you nothing today, but your gift will help to secure the future of your chosen charity. Every year, LOROS must raise over £6 million and gifts in Wills make up a big part of this, ensuring we can continue to provide vital services to terminally ill people.

Please consider leaving a gift to LOROS in your Will. Every gift makes a real difference to our patients, their families and carers."

Janet Bliss joined us for our free Will writing clinics service and said:

"I was very impressed with the service I received. I already had a Will and I wanted to update it and check that it was suitable for my needs. I was told the meeting would take 20 mins which I thought would be too quick, but the solicitor covered everything in that time. She was very friendly and explained everything clearly and I came out of the session feeling reassured that my Will was in safe hands.

I have left a legacy to LOROS in my Will and she explained charity donations did not incur inheritance tax, I was not aware of this. When I went to the office to sign my Will I was dealt with efficiently and they kindly gave me photo copies of my Will for my executors."
