LOROS assisted dying position

As the UK debates the Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill, LOROS remains steadfast in its aims to provide high-quality palliative and end-of-life care.

While acknowledging the sensitivity of assisted dying, LOROS has decided that such services will not be offered within its facilities, nor will staff participate in these processes. Our focus remains on addressing the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of patients with life-limiting conditions, ensuring dignity and comfort are paramount.

LOROS emphasises the irreplaceable role of hospices in this debate, advocating for sustainable funding to secure the future of care services that rely heavily on donations.

As societal and legal contexts evolve, LOROS continues to lead through research, education, and compassionate care, always prioritising patients’ dignity and families’ needs. Our approach reflects our unwavering commitment to providing accessible, equitable, and holistic support to those we serve.
