Leicester West MP, Liz Kendall, paid tribute to the work of LOROS in a debate about support for hospice services in Westminster Hall on 14 June 2023. MP’s from across the house spoke about the financial pressures facing hospices, calling for a review of hospice funding and for Independent Care Boards to use the additional investment they have been given by central government to better fund local hospices. We have thanked Liz for her contribution to the debate, which was informed by a briefing paper prepared by Liz McIntrye and Wayne Matts, and offered to join her in meeting with the Minister for Social Care to further discuss solutions to funding pressures and also how hospices can help better support people dying in care homes.
