Put your antlers on and get raring to go this winter in support of LOROS Hospice

LOROS have teamed up with Santa’s favourite reindeers to bring you a fun-filled fundraising event during the festive season!

We’re counting on your team of reindeer recruits to get active and participate in our Reindeer Run, all in the spirit of supporting local families in your community across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland during the Christmas period.

It’s so easy to take part…. you set the date, distance and location and we’ll provide you with everything you need to support your fundraising.

We can provide you with:

  • A pair of reindeer antlers for every child taking part (minimum sponsorship of £5 per child applies)

  • Sponsorship forms to help collect that all-important sponsorship for LOROS Hospice

  • A certificate of achievement for every pupil who takes part

  • The opportunity for a cheque presentation with the children after your event

  • The opportunity for our mascot Lionel to attend your event and help to kick off the reindeer run

  • Festive bunting for decorating

Frequently Asked Questions

Why should we host a Reindeer Run?
The Reindeer Run is a fun and easy way for local schools (based in Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland) to encourage pupils to get active this festive season! By hosting a Reindeer Run, you’ll also highlight the importance of supporting and raising funds for LOROS Hospice.

When is the Reindeer Run?
You can host your Reindeer Run any time from the beginning of November right up until term finishes in December.

Where is the Reindeer Run?
The Reindeer Run is designed to be hosted by local schools across Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland. Hold it in your playground, on your school field or any other location of your choosing. (LOROS Hospice shall not be held responsible for accidents, injury, loss or damage to persons or property as a consequence of participation in the Reindeer Run campaign).

How do I organise a Reindeer Run?
Register your interest in taking part in a Reindeer Run by emailing fundraising@loros.co.uk and we’ll get in touch to help get this fun-draiser off the ground!

How long should our Reindeer Run be?
You decide the distance. We recommend setting an achievable target for your pupils with Reindeer routes up to 1km.

Can anyone get involved in the Reindeer Run?
The Reindeer Run is designed for 4 to 11 year olds attending primary schools across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

“I’m not a primary school pupil but would like to take part!”
Amazing news. If you’re a slightly older reindeer who would like to take on Reindeer Run for LOROS Hospice, get in touch with our Fundraising team. We’re more than happy to have a chat about everything you need to get started, including how to set up your own JustGiving fundraising page to raise that all important sponsorship.

How much does our Reindeer Run need to raise?
We ask all children taking part raise a minimum sponsorship of £5. All the money you help raise through your Reindeer Run goes towards supporting people living with a life-limiting illness, and their families.

How do we donate the money raised?

LOROS Hospice accepts donations in a number of different ways. If you’d like to donate to the Hospice, you can do so by:

JustGiving
Once you have signed up, a member of our Fundraising team will be in touch to help you set up a JustGiving page that is directly linked to LOROS. This is the easiest way to get sponsorship without having to handle cash. Our team will help you to set up a school JustGiving page where you can easily share the link with staff, parents/guardians and friends and family.

Online donations
Online donations are the quickest and most convenient way of making a donation and can be done at loros.co.uk/donate

Sending a cheque
Cheques must be made payable to LOROS Hospice:

Or let us know when you have collected in all the money raised and when you would like to drop it off to us!

How does raising money for LOROS Hospice make a difference?

We would love to come and talk to your school about LOROS Hospice and the difference the money you raise makes.

If you would like to arrange for one of the Fundraising team to pay you a visit, please get in touch by emailing fundraising@loros.co.uk or calling us on 0116 2348431
