Organisers of this year's LOROS ladies lunch are hoping it has raised £10,000 for the hospice.

Guest speaker was TV star Julia Bradbury, presenter of Countryfile, who has been a patron of the charity since September 2012.

An audience of 600 at the King Power Stadium heard her talk about her media career and the highs and lows and why she enjoys the job. She also talked about her walks and the importance of family.

Visitors had a chance to do a little shopping from an array of stalls selling items including handbags, jewellery and cakes.

Event organiser Laura Betts said: "We feel extremely honoured to have Julia as a patron for LOROS.

"Julia also visited the hospice for the first time prior to the lunch and met staff, volunteers and patients.

"Her visit really helped to lift spirits and put smiles on people's faces."
