The festival at Stapleford Miniature Railway features rides on the famous ten-and-a-quarter-inch scale railway, as well as traction engines and vintage vehicles.

The festival, which raises money for Leicestershire and Rutland Hospice (LOROS), is one of only two chances for people to visit the miniature railway this year.

More than 14 real ales and ciders will be available at the steam festival, as well as other refreshments.

There will be also be fairground organs, trade stands, and miniature engines.

In previous years up to 4,000 visitors have enjoyed the show at Stapleford near Whissendine.

Built in 1958, the railway is one of the finest of its kind in the UK with more than two miles of track around parkland and a lake.

Other attractions will include traction engines and farm machinery.

Gates open at 10am both Saturday and Sunday (14th & 15th June)and admission is £5 adults and £3 children (under fives free).

The other chance for families to enjoy riding on the minature railway is on the August bank holiday weekend.
