Marks & Spencer has selected LOROS as their Chosen Charity

In the middle of July the staff at Leicester M&S selected LOROS to be their local chosen charity, therefore over a 6 week period they will hold various fundraising events in store.

The first activities were scheduled for Friday 1st and Saturday 2nd August.

The M&S staff encouraged their customers to give generous donations to the cause by climbing aboard a static exercise bike located just outside the store on Humberstone Gate. This activity proved really successful and was warmly welcomed by customers and passers-by.

In store our volunteers helped to pack customers’ shopping (bag packing). This activity is a fantastic fundraiser and helps us to secure part of the £4.5 million pounds we need to raise annually.

Alex Gamble, Partnership Development Executive said, “The cycling generated a lot of interest from customers, and we are very grateful to the M&S staff for their dedication. We hope that they have fully recovered as the second part of their fundraising effort is going to happen soon!”

Please remember to pop into town on Friday 15th and Saturday 16th of August to see the new cycling attractions planned by M&S. You can do your shopping at the same time!

If you would like to choose LOROS as your charity of the year, please telephone (0116) 231 8431 or email fundraising@loros.co.uk
