LOROS is calling on residents in Hinckley and Bosworth to turn this month in to Frocktober.

The charity, which provides hospice care and support to terminally ill adults, their family and carers, is calling on people to take selfies wearing frocks throughout the month of October.

After seeing the success of other charity campaigns such as Movember, The No-Make-Up selfie and most recently the Ice Bucket Challenge, LOROS decided to do its own.

LOROS said they want to see the people of Leicestershire glam up for “Frocktober”.

Anyone can take part - male or female, old or young. All people have to do is don their best frock and take a selfie of themselves carrying out tasks, whether it’s doing the school run, at work, walking the dog – or even skydiving.

LOROS are also encouraging people to hold “frock swap” parties in their own homes where guests can bring along unwanted items of clothing and ‘frock’ the night away, not forgetting that any remaining items can be donated to the LOROS shop on Castle Street.

LOROS depend on the support of people, organisations and businesses to help raise the £4.5 million needed each year to provide the unique care.

A spokesman for LOROS said: “Please support LOROS and help us to continue providing our specialist services to more than 2,500 people in our community each year.”
