Technical Turf reward their clients' loyalty with LOROS scratch cards

In November 2013, Martin and Sally's dearest friend Sarah sadly died at LOROS Hospice.

In gratitude for the care she received from the wonderful team of staff and volunteers during her illness and at the time of her death they decided that they had to support LOROS in whatever way they could.

Martin and Sally said: "The care that Sarah received was amazing, and this was also extended to her family and friends. It made an unbearably sad time bearable, and for that we will be forever grateful. Not long afterwards we decided that we had to do something to support the Hospice.

"Volunteering is the obvious option, however, running a recently established business that provides a countrywide turfcare service does not allow for many spare hours to make a worthwhile commitment. We explored the LOROS website, and having supported the local LOROS shops, lottery and purchasing scratch cards in the past, we decided to reward our clients with one scratch card for every £100 spent with Technical Turf. Not only was this an incentive for our clients with the possibility of winning up to £1000, it generated business for us, and introduced the LOROS charity to establishments up and down the country.

"The feedback we have received has been immensely positive. Several of our clients have had substantial 'wins' and they have all put their winnings straight back into the charity which is a winner all round for LOROS!

"The support we have had from the LOROS fundraising team has been fantastic, and has spurred us onto other ideas for raising even more funds for this wonderful charity. We have several exciting events in the planning stage for this year, but we know that with the enthusiasm of Laura and her team, and the support of our clients, family and friends we can give something back to a very special place, whilst keeping the memory of our dear friend alive."

Laura Betts, Partnership Development Executive at LOROS said: “We are so grateful for the support Martin and Sally have given to LOROS, it just goes to show the wide range of ways you and your company can get involved and also how innovative your fundraising can be.

"We are delighted that Martin and Sally recognise the rewards associated with supporting LOROS and I am so pleased that their enthusiasm for fundraising is continuing to grow, they really are fantastic ambassadors and we cannot wait to see what they have up their sleeves next!”
