On Thursday 12th February, British Gas (Aylestone Road) got in touch with their softer side and created a “hub of love” at Beaumont Shopping Centre to celebrate Valentine’s Day and to raise funds for their local Hospice, LOROS.

The dedicated team from British Gas were selling romantic gifts including single red roses, cones of sweets, and heart shaped balloons. LOROS’ own Fundraiser Ted was also working very hard giving out loving hugs. Customers visiting the shopping centre were able to purchase something very special for their loved ones, whilst supporting their local hospice at the same time.

Bindu Panchmatia, Performance Coach/CR & Volunteering Champion at British Gas said: “I am delighted to say we have raised almost £400 for LOROS. I would like to say a MASSIVE thank you to the team for their hard work and support in making this event a fantastic success!”

Magdalena Korytkowska, Fundraising Co-Ordinator at LOROS said: “£400 is a wonderful achievement. This amount is equivalent to the cost of eight specialist complementary therapy sessions which our patients and members of their family can benefit from here at the Hospice.

I would like to say a big thank you to the team at British Gas for their hard work, dedication and for donating their valuable time in order to raise funds for LOROS. We are also extremely grateful to Beaumont Shopping Centre for providing us with such a fantastic opportunity to fundraise. We are delighted that we have been selected by both, British Gas and Beaumont Shopping Centre, as their chosen Charity of the Year and we are looking forward to creating more collaborative partnerships, just like this one, in the future!”

LOROS are currently on the lookout for groups who are interested in organising their own fundraising events on behalf of LOROS at Beaumont Shopping Centre. If you are interested in this opportunity please contact the LOROS Fundraising Department on 0116 231 8431/2 or fundraising@loros.co.uk
