A LOCAL charity paid tribute to the “amazing” fundraising of Loughborough College when they were presented with a cheque by students this week.

In only two days of events across the town, Health and Social Care students collected £845.49 for LOROS Hospice.

“More than 100 students packed bags, shook buckets and ran raffles and competitions across the town and donated to take part in games themselves in our sports hall to boost funds even more,” said Jayne Gillies, Caring Services Learning Coach at Loughborough College.

“Everyone was incredibly generous with donations of money, venues and prizes.

“Our students had no hesitation in nominating LOROS Hospice as their chosen charity as so many of them had had experience of family members who had benefited from their support.”

Adrian Walker, Senior Fundraiser at LOROS, said: “This is a fabulous donation and we are very grateful to Loughborough College.”
