On Tuesday 16th June, the Taylor Bloxham Group took on the Rothley 10k race. There were 5 of us in total, all running to raise money for LOROS!

It was an unusual start time of 7:15pm but nonetheless we were all ready and raring to go. The course itself was what they describe as undulating, which pretty much meant we had 3 great big hills to run up – and it was a 2 lap course so we had to take them on twice. On top of this we had to contend with in the heat and the late start time, so all in all we had to deal with some pretty challenging conditions!

It was the 30th Anniversary of the road race this year so there was a fantastic turnout of over 500 runners. As usual the residents of Rothley and Mountsorrel were out in force to cheer on the runners at every stage of the route, creating a brilliant atmosphere for everyone taking part.

A big thank you to everyone who signed up from the Taylor Bloxham Group, it was great to have your support in raising money for LOROS and a huge well done because everyone finished in a brilliant time!

25% of all the money raised from entries for the Rothley 10k is donated to LOROS but we also chose to raise individual sponsorship as well. So far this year we have managed to raise nearly £700 for LOROS, so thank you to everyone who has helped us reach this amount.

Even though it’s all for charity and the times don’t really matter, here’s how we all got on anyway:
