The third Welland Valley Wander, organised by LOROS Supporter Andrew Duerden, took place last Saturday, 18th August.

The brand new route with beautiful views and fascinating places attracted a full entry list well in advance of the day.

There were a number of pre war cars, with the oldest being an Edwardian Sunbeam from 1915 and a varied assortment of classic cars, including a Bentley, BMW, Bond and a Bristol.

Alt textDebbie Dickman, Fundraising Co-ordinator at LOROS went along to the start point at the Kilworth House Hotel Staging Post, where the race began. She was presented with a cheque for £2,000 from last year's event and was given the honour of starting this year's.

Debbie said: "It was such a privilege to represent LOROS and to wave the cars off.

"I hope everyone had a thoroughly enjoyable day driving through the beautiful English countryside before ending their day at the stunning Drayton House, in Northamptonshire.

"The Hospice needs to raise at least £4.5 million each year from our local community; events such as this are essential for us to reach our target and the money they raised last year could be used to contribute to the running of the day therapy service for a day as well as a day of complementary therapy for patients and carers.

"Thank you all for the difference you have helped us make."
