Diwali Celebration benefit LOROS

Staff at Barclays branch on Belgrave Road, celebrated Diwali with their customers whilst raising awareness and fund-raising for LOROS.

The team welcomed their clients dressed in traditional saris and suits and served Indian sweets and chocolates as well as providing them with financial advice and banking services.

A raffle in aid of LOROS, raised an fantastic £1,039.59. Prizes were very generously donated by numerous local businesses from the Golden Mile and included jewellery, saris and shop & restaurant vouchers. Alt text

As last year, Barclays is very kindly going to add an additional £1,000 to the team's total, which means that the Hospice will receive an amazing £2, 039.59. This could pay for one of our Community Nurse Specialists to visit 20 of our patient in their own homes, providing free care and support to them and their family members.

A spokesperson from Barclays, said: “We had a really lovely day which was enhanced by the great amount we made for our chosen charity, LOROS. The Hospice remains very close to our hearts and we also enjoy volunteering at the Hospice.” Alt text

Magdalena Korytkowska, Corporate Fundraising Co-ordinator at LOROS added: “I really enjoyed being part of Barclay's Diwali celebrations and would like to say a big thank you to the team and all their customers for their continued support to LOROS."
