Nan Fest raises £3,000 for LOROS

Nan Fest, an event dedicated to Maureen Chamberlain (Nan), who lost her fight at LOROS earlier this year, was the brainchild of her daughter Lynne Marsden and her husband Tony.

Through ticket sales, a raffle and event sponsors, Gelsmore Restaurant, Principle Wills, Stinsons of Whitwick, Harlequin Accident Repair Centre, Martyn Raynor Cars, SMP Projects, Imagine Interiors, Principal Insurance UK and Marsden Direct Group, Nan Fest raised a staggering £2937.15 by the end of the evening.

Lynne said: "After seeing the phenomenal work and level of care provided by this amazing Hospice we knew we could help by doing what we do best - putting on a live music extravaganza. "We cannot thank enough the amazing artists that performed for us, Sally Barker, Jersey Budd, GrayStarr, Funktion Junction and their amazing Robbie Show and not forgetting The Shakers who performed a rock and roll set to the packed house at the Hugglescote Social Club.

"I was very emotional towards the end of the evening. I miss my Mum so much but take great comfort in knowing that she was cared for so well at LOROS - the nurses are all angels without wings."

Sue Swann, who works as a Secretarial Assistant in the Fundraising department at LOROS added: "My husband and I attended the event on Friday evening; the clubhouse was packed and the atmosphere electric.

"Everyone had a brilliant evening and I was delighted to see that all Lynne and Tony's hard work paid off with such a fantastic result.

"I understand that someone stepped in the day after the event and rounded the amount up to £3,000 and that the total is still rising. The amount raised to date could pay for the care of an inpatient for a six day stay at the Hospice. That is a brilliant achievement; well done and thank you so much from everyone at LOROS!"

If you were there, we hope you enjoyed the evening; if you were unable to make it this year but would like to help Lynne and Tony to raise funds for this incredible organisation, then please follow this Just Giving link.
