Loose Women star Sherrie Hewson has treated members of staff at LOROS to pantomime tickets this Christmas, after being overwhelmed by the work they do when she visited the Hospice earlier this week.

The actress, who is currently playing the Wicked Queen in Snow White at De Montfort Hall, offered to fund the cost of tickets for any LOROS member of staff who wanted to watch the show tonight. (WED)

Her extremely kind gesture came after Sherrie took time out from performing, when she visited the Hospice on Monday.

“All of the staff at the Hospice are so busy making sure Christmas is special for the patients but they deserve to be treated too,” said Sherrie, who has appeared in the likes of Coronation Street, Crossroads, Emmerdale and now plays Joyce Temple-Savage in ITV sitcom Benidorm.

“I’ve decided to play Mrs Claus and have given them a special present.

“Really we should be looking out for each other throughout the whole year but Christmas is as Alt textgood a time as any to make a point of being there for other people.” During Sherrie’s visit to the Hospice, she met with staff, volunteers, patients and their family members.

Ward Manager Jacky McBlain said that Sherrie’s visit to LOROS was very uplifting.

“She really bought a smile to everyone’s faces, staff, patients and their families. Sherrie really was lovely.

“And what a kind thing to do, treating the staff to seeing the pantomime, they were so excited when I told them.”

LOROS Donor Development Lead in the Fundraising team, Rachel Hill added: “What a treat for all of us and what a kind thing to do.

“It was nice enough of Sherrie to take time out of her busy schedule to visit the Hospice, let alone be kind enough to surprise staff with pantomime tickets.

“Now we have met her, it will make it even more special seeing her on stage.”
