Hollyoaks star and LOROS Ambassador Charlie Clapham revealed as Prince Charming at Hospice's Twilight Walk

Hollyoaks actor and LOROS Ambassador will be playing Prince Charming at this year’s annual Twilight Walk.

The soap star will be meeting fans and posing for pictures with participants to raise money at the event, which has a fairytale princess theme and is taking place on Saturday 9th April.

Charlie, 24, said he jumped at the chance to play Prince Charming at the 10km walk, after seeing where the money raised went following his visit to the Hospice late last year. Alt text“I’m absolutely buzzing to be the Prince Charming at this year’s LOROS Twilight Walk,” said Charlie, who was overwhelmed with the services LOROS offer when he visited the Hospice in November. “I’m on the search for the perfect costume already.

“When I visited the Hospice last year, I suggested to a group of daughters who were visiting their mum there, that they should do the walk. Later on, they came up to me and said they would love to, as it was their mum’s birthday on the same day as the event.

Alt text“I thought to myself, now if that’s not a sign from the universe that I should be involved in the Twilight Walk, then I don’t know what is. And what better than playing Prince Charming for the night.”

More than a thousand women took to the streets of Leicester city to raise money for LOROS last year, with the same set to happen again this year.

“You never know what’s going to happen in life and being involved with something like the LOROS Twilight Walk, gets you out and active, while giving something back to the community.Alt text

“I want every single woman in Leicester and Leicestershire to take part in the event, so girls grab your friends, sisters, mothers and grandmothers because you don’t want to miss this.

“And boys, don’t think you’re getting away with not coming, you can join in the fun by cheering on the girls in your lives, or even volunteer at the event.”

Charlie will be at the event, having photos with participants in return for a donation to LOROS. He will also be an honorary Twilight Walker for the evening and will be completing the route with those taking part.

“It will be great, me and the ladies of Leicestershire marching through the city centre together, I can’t wait,” he added.

The event, which begins and ends at Leicester City’s King Power stadium, starts at 7.30pm and there will be refreshments waiting for participants as they cross the finish line.

The annual balloon release will once again be taking place, giving participants the chance to tie a personal message to one of our pink balloons before releasing it.

People can register for the event at the special early bird price of £10, if they sign up before February 1st.
