TV and radio superstar Gloria Hunniford has been revealed as next year’s Guest Speaker at LOROS Hospice’s annual Ladies Luncheon.

Hundreds of women have already purchased tickets for the event, which is taking place at Leicester City’s King Power Stadium, on Wednesday 10th May 2017.

Gloria, who is one of Britain’s best known television personalities, recognised for hosting chat shows and presenting current affairs programmes, will be playing the role of speaker at the event, sharing anecdotes and tales from her time in the industry.

Gloria was also the first ever woman to have her own show on BBC Radio 2, which she continued to present for 13 years.

She has also since written a number of books, two of which, ‘Next To You’ and ‘Always With You’, touched the hearts of the nation, in which she told her moving account of her daughter’s battle with cancer.

Today, Gloria currently presents 'Cash in the Attic' on BBC1 and 'Cash in the Celebrity Attic' on BBC2, as well as the hugely popular 'Rip-Off Britain' on BBC2.

Fundraising Events Lead Laura Betts said: “We are so excited to reveal the wonderful Gloria Hunniford as next year’s Ladies Luncheon Guest Speaker.

“Every year, this is a sell-out event, with the majority of tickets selling before the New Year has even begun and I’m sure this announcement will ensure tickets sell out faster than ever.”

Gloria has won many prestigious awards during her 30-year career in the media, including TV Personality of the Year.

“We know just how well-known Gloria is and we really do think she really will appeal to our guests at our annual Ladies Luncheon,” added Laura.

Along with a delicious three course meal, guests will also be able to enjoy a spot of retail therapy, as there will a selection of stalls on site selling a variety of goods including scarves, jewellery and handbags.

Last year, tennis mum and Strictly Come Dancing star Judy Murray hosted the event, which was attended by 600 people and raised more than £15,000 for the Hospice.

Around 75 per cent of tickets have been sold for this year’s event, so those wanting to attend are encouraged to purchase their tickets early to avoid disappointment.
