This magnificent event is set to dazzle and delight women from across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, with thousands expected to once again take to the city’s streets to raise money for the Hospice.

From clowns, to ring masters, or fortune tellers and mime artists, women of all ages are invited to come together and get dressed up in the name of charity, as they walk the 10k route around Leicester.

LOROS Fundraising Co-ordinator Laura Fitzsawyer said: “Step right up and get your hands on tickets for our Twilight Walk now, this event is too good to miss.

“And with early bird tickets at the bargain price of £10, who needs a better excuse to sign up for the biggest event in the LOROS calendar?”

Last year, nearly 2,000 women took part in the event and this time round, LOROS are hoping to reach at least 2,500.

“Every year, LOROS supports 2,500 terminally ill people, so if 2,500 women take part each of those will be walking for one of our patients,” added Laura.

“This year, we raised an almighty £90,000 and next year, we’re hoping to raise even more.”

The Twilight Walk will be taking place on Saturday 14th April and will once again start and finish at Leicester City’s King Power Stadium.

The event will also include the annual balloon release, giving participants the opportunity to set off a pink balloon with a note on, in memory of a loved one.

New to the up-and-coming Twilight Walk will be a food court completing the walk, giving walkers the chance to indulge in some much needed grub from a variety of food vendors.

“We asked participants what they wanted and so many said a better choice of food at the end, so we listened and we’re introducing the brand new food court to next year’s event,” said Laura.

“The event is growing and growing, getting bigger year on year and 2018 will be no different, we’re looking forward to it already.”

The event will also see the return of The Hundred Heroes Club, after it made a hugely successful debut this year.

Participants of The Hundred Heroes Club pledge to raise £100 for LOROS through sponsorship and in return get a specially designed t-shirt and VIP treatment at the event.
