LOROS Big Day Out – save the date for this free, fun, family event!

LOROS is once again holding its hugely successful annual Big Day Out on Saturday 13th October and is inviting all its friends and supporters to come along.

The free event will be a fun, family day out with a host of children’s activities including face painting, a petting zoo and fairground rides.

With out-of-this-world appearances from a number of Star Wars characters as well as live entertainment from De Montfort University Society Performers it’s an event too good to miss.

A variety of street food vendors will be selling local produce from pulled pork to waffles and ice cream, as well as a food and craft market and artisan coffee roasters 200 Degrees Coffee.

LOROS Big Day Out is an open day which forms the crescendo to Hospice Care Week, an awareness raising campaign which aims to dispel myths and help people understand more about what hospice care is.

LOROS CEO John Knight said: “The Big Day Out is a great way for local people to find out more about what LOROS does and what services we offer, at the same time as having a fun day out!

“Last year we had more than 2,000 people attend throughout the day, and we’re expecting a similar amount this year. As a result we’re planning carefully to keep the queues down and make sure everyone has a great time.

“This will include offering free car parking at a nearby location so we can use all our space at the hospice for stalls and activities. We’ll update our website with the latest developments so check back regularly.

“The open day is one of our ways of saying thank you to all LOROS supporters whilst showing them how important they are to our success. I look forward to seeing everyone there!”

LOROS’ Big Day Out event is taking place at the Hospice, in Groby Road and will be starting at 10am and finishing at 4pm.
