Now in its fourth year, LOROS has been calling on local organisations, schools, colleges, community groups and businesses to take part in their Accumulator Challenge which started last week.

We have thrown down the gauntlet to an amazing 47 teams who have now received their £50 from LOROS and will need to use their creative and entrepreneurial skills to turn this into as much money as possible for the Hospice.

The teams are competing against each other for three very different top prizes which will be awarded at a presentation evening in July.

Magdalena Korytkowsa, Corporate Fundraising Co-ordinator at the Hospice, said: “A very warm welcome to all the businesses, community groups and individuals who have so kindly chosen to support LOROS by signing up to this year's Accumulator Challenge.

"We are thrilled that Accumulator Challengers have raised in excess of £50,000 for the Hospice since its inception in 2014. This amount could pay for one of our specialist nurses to look after our patients for nearly 18 months, and demonstrates what a huge contribution the Challenge has made to the Hospice so far.

"This challenge is a great recipe for team building and entrepreneurial skills, with a bit of friendly rivalry on the side and we are looking forward to seeing how you fundraise, invest, run or organise your way to the biggest profit in three months - we are sure it will be a great

"I will, of course, be on hand to offer support and guidance as and when it is needed and take great pleasure in posting photographs and update of your events and progress in our corporate gallery on the LOROS webpage."
